INTERESTING PIECE OF ART

This IS an art exhibit in the new Smithsonia Art & Portrait Gallary. There is a license plate from each state. Ryan had to tell me what it meant.... Try reading it...
let me know if you don't get it.

CAPITOL VISIT

These are the stairs inside the capitol that each President of the United States walks down to go out onto the balcony to take the oath of office. (We had a private tour by an aid of Colorado Senator Bennett so we were able to go where the regular public tours don't get to go).

Washington, Korean, Vietnam

LINCOLN MEMORIAL

ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY

The eternal flame at the grave of John F. Kennedy, with the Lee Mansion behind.
Changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

ARLINGTON CHAPEL

We wonder if this will look familiar to any of our kids - we were in this ward a long time ago.

Air Force Memorial

My dad (Grandpa Mahoney) was in the Air Force from 1952-1956.

PENTAGON MEMORIAL

The memorial was built on the grounds next to where the Pentagon was hit. You can see the change in color where the wall was rebuilt.
Ryan took most of the pictures during our trip and became a great photographer. We tried to visit most of the memorials both during the day and then again at night.

FDR MEMORIAL

This memorial is fairly new and was one of our favorites.
Ryan in the soup line. Justin and Alicia posted a picture just like this one of Justin that they took on their trip to DC in March.
